Campaign Photography is a mix of photojournalism, documentary photography and promotional work.
You can use campaign photography to stand up for issues that matter to you or to raise money for charity
Examples for campaign photography
for this photo the photographer has highlighted the face of the person using a spot light, also, they have made the photo black white.
For this photo the photographer has used stop action to capture the spray coming out of the mouth.
A dark background shows the fur trade and how horrible it is. They have used face paint to make her appear battered and bruised
A black background has been used to make the animals stand out and simple writing to get the message across
My plan
Animal cruelty is very harmful and dangerous to animals and wildlife. I have chosen Animal Cruelty for my campaign because I like animals and I have my own dog that I can take photos of.
This photo has been editing to get all three animals on the same photo. The white background represents the purity and innocence of the animals.
The titles bold and capitals are used to the campaign photography to make it interesting campaign.
The white background represents the purity and innocence of the animals. You can vote to stop animal cruelty by logging on to the website for free. The photograph of the puppy is a sad one this will make more people vote.
My plan - for my photo shoot is to face paint a friend, as an animal and have them stand behind some wire/metal fencing, to make it look like they are caged.
Below are some practice shots
This image is my worst practice shot because there is a foot in the background
This photo is my best one because it is more in focus
More practice shoot photos
Photos from my first campaign shoot - Animal Cruelty
I think that this is my worst photo because the black bar goes right over her face.
This is my best photo because it is in focus and it is the look I was hoping for.
Below is my final edit for my animal cruelty campaign photo shoot, I have done a black and white photo but brought the colour out on the face to highlight the eagle face. I have used a person face painted as an eagle to show that you wouldn't want to cage your own child, so why do it to an animal.
Photos from my second campaign photo shoot - Children's Mental Health. This is different from my first shoot because I have to try and capture a persons emotions.
This Is my worst photo because I've chopped some head off and I think it would look better with the face more central.
This is my best photo because it is in focus and I have got the face more central.
Below is my final edit from my Mental Health campaign photo shoot, I made the photo black and white to show how dark and depressing the subject is. I have chosen a red font because it stands out and red is a colour for anger. I have chosen the children's mental health logo because I have taken a photo of a Child, so it matches up well.
RSPCA CAMPAIGN
The RSPCA has recently received a number of stray dogs and cats and are struggling to take them in as they are already at capacity. Some have been referred to other animal organisations in the hope that they can be cared for and rehomed.
My task is to create a campaign poster showing what the RSCPA do.
2nd Plan
3 Examples of RSPCA campaigns.
I would like my RSPCA campaign to look similar to this one because it has all the information and a good photo.
Practice shoot using soft toys
My worst photo is blurred and too bright.
My best photo is in focus with a blurred background
What has gone well? So far, in my soft toy photo shoot, I have managed to get a photo in focus with good lighting and a blurred out background. What has not gone well? I hadn't been able to use a real dog.
My plan for this photo shoot, is to edit my best photo and turn it into a poster for the RSPCA, I would like to get a photo, like my best one above, of my own dog at home.
Below is my practice edit from my RSPCA campaign photo shoot. I had good lighting for this photo, the background I blurred out so that the focus is on the dog. I chose to keep the photo in colour like the RSPCA poster I found. I used blue text to match RSPCA logo. I think my photo looks sad and cute.
Below are a couple of shots of my dog at home, that I plan on using for my final poster.
Below is my final edit from my RSPCA campaign. I took a photo of my own dog at home, laying in the grass, to make it look as if she is homeless. I have good lighting, my photo is in focus, exposure and shutter speed are just right, I have use the rule of thirds to give a powerful image, also the contrast between the green grass and my white dog, really make my dog stand out. I have left space around my dog to allow for the text.
forth campaign Litter Bugs! This campaign is based on litter around school .
Some examples of litter campaigns below.
I prefer this photo out of the 3 located above because you can see what the school looks like with the trash and without the trash.
Below are some photos from my shoot.
I have decided to use this photo for my campaign, I will do some editing to make my campaign eye catching .
Screen shots from editing my litterbugs campaign.
First edit from my litter bug campaign. I chose two of my best photos and put them together using photo plus, I added a logo and some text. I used the correct shutter speed to capture the litter falling into the bin. Exposure and aperture are good and my photos are in focus.
Second edit for litter bug campaign, for this one I have used three of my photos and merged them together to make the school look like there is rubbish everywhere.
Screenshots from third edit for litter bugs campaign.

Final edit from litter bug campaign, for this one I used four of my photos and merged them together, as before, but tried to make the rubbish look more than in the previous edit.
Evaluation I found this project tricky, as I struggled to think of how I wanted my final image to look. I enjoyed editing all my photos for this shoot and learnt a lot about the editing software. I am pleased with the final look of my campaign image.
