These images have been edited. flipping images up side down, taking two different photos and making them into one photo are just some ways to make them look weird or unusual.
Tommy ingberg
Tommy Ingberg. Tommy Ingberg is an award-winning photographer and visual artist, born 1980 in Sweden. He works with photography and digital image editing, creating minimalistic and self-reflecting surreal photo montages dealing with human nature, feelings and thoughts
A large depth of field has been used to create a feeling of wide open space. This image has had a traffic light edited into it, which is weird because traffic lights are normally found in busy cities like London.
Brooke Shaden
Brooke explores the darkness and light in people, and her work looks at that juxtaposition. As a self-portrait artist, she photographs herself and becomes the characters of dreams inspired by a childhood of intense imagination and fear.
This image has used a large depth of field, to get all the sky in. The lady is pulling a nice blue sky over the dark dull sky, which is surreal.
Ronen Goldman
Ronen Goldman is an artist and conceptual photographer, who was born in California but now currently lives in Israel. Ronen’s conceptual photographs consists of him photographing his dreams, and often spends months planning and perfecting his idea before he begins the photographing process. Ronen’s work has been featured in art fairs in London, Brussels, Spain, Germany and also has a social documentary which is part of the ‘World Press Photo’ Exhibition held at the Eretz Israel Museum In Tel Aviv.
Ronen Goldman has used a large depth of field on this image to create a sense of movement. The wall, road and dirt create a good composition following the Rule of Thirds.
Experimental edits I have had a go at editing some photos I had on file to see what I could create.
Hossein Zare
Hossein Zare was born in 1992 in Iran. He is a self-taught photographer and despite his young age, his surrealist photographs won many awards and international recognitions
Plan for my first shoot
I want to recreate this image in the style of Hossein Zare, I will need to use the front of the school. I plan to use my dog instead of a man.
First shoot
Final edit from first shoot I have attempted to turn the school up side down and make it appear as if my dog is falling by using an editing programme.
Plan for second shoot
I would like to do a clone shoot, using one person in different poses. I plan to use an area in school for the shoot.
Second shoot
first edit from second shoot I enjoy doing this shoot. To improve on it, it would be good to get the shadows to make it look more real.
Second edit This is my best clone edit because on this edit I have added some shadows to make it look more realistic.
Plan for third shoot
I plan to recreate this image in my own way, having someone crawling on the ceiling.
Third Shoot
My edits from third shoot
This image was my worst edit because I didn't drop a shadow to the person on the ceiling.
This is my favourite edit from my third shoot because I have managed to create my plan. I have also added a shadow to the person on the ceiling.
Plan for 4th shoot I didn't have a plan for this one. It snowed and so I took advantage of the sudden opportunity for a snow shoot.
fourth shoot
Edits from 4th shoot
I think this is my worst edit because I haven't made it look realistic enough.
This is my best edit from snow shoot because I have managed to make it appear realistic, by adding a drop shadow and a blue lens filter.
Plan for 5th shoot
I plan to do a similar shoot to this one, except I would like to put someone in a light bulb.
5th shoot
First Edit from 5th shoot
This is my worst edit because the person in the bulb is a bit too small, you cant see very well.
Second edit from 5th shoot
This is my best edit because it looks more realistic, as the person in the salt shaker really does look trapped inside.
Plan for 6th shoot
This photo by Hossein zare has influenced me to try and create something similar using a school fence.
6th Shoot
Edits from sixth shoot
This is my worst edit because of the depth of field is too large.
This is my best edit from my 6th shoot because I have managed to keep the background out of focus, with the fence and characters as the main focus point. I have also used my cloning editing skills to make it look realistic.
Evaluation I have really enjoyed this project, weird and wonderful. From my first shoot and edit, right to the end sixth shoot and edit, my skills have clearly got better with each shoot and edit, I think my images are looking amazing. As you look down the page you can see my images and edits getting better as I learn new skills, the edits start to look more realistic and surreal. The skills I have learnt whilst doing this project are Cloning, feathering, adding a filter to an image to make one image blend in with another image, how to add a shadow to make something look more realistic. This project was my favourite one so far.
